We love playtime!

I’m your friendly neighborhood German mom, living her best life in sunny Florida.

My husband and I moved here in 2017 thinking we would stay for a year or two, make some great experiences and then move back to Germany. But more often than not life has it’s own plan. We got a dog, made the best friends and the biggest change – welcomed our daughter.

I’m incredibly lucky to have found the most amazing group of moms, dads and kids here, who I have fun with, go through the good and bad of parenthood and who I learn from every day.

So for now I enjoy the ride and see where life takes me.

At “fun play joy” we’re all about celebrating the magic of playtime.

I firmly believe that play is the secret sauce that transforms childhood into an unforgettable adventure. It’s the place where imaginations run wild, friendships are forged over games of tag, and the biggest lessons are learned through laughter. I am passionate about play because I witness every day the incredible power it has in shaping young minds. It’s like a treasure trove of skills waiting to be unearthed – creativity, problem-solving, resilience, and so much more!

And I want to share this joy with all of you!

My goal is to provide you with playtime inspiration, craft ideas and show you our favorite toys. I’ll also have a couple of tips for those trickier parenthood situations (I know a thing or two about long travels) and days that just seem a little bit too long.

We’re currently in the kindergarten realm. Since I don’t want to recommend anything I don’t have personal experience with, you won’t find much beyond that age group yet. But stick with me and we’ll grow, play and learn together!

This website and blog are my hobby and my learning project. I’m doing everything myself and it’s not perfect! It doesn’t have to be. I’m doing my best, learning a ton of new skills and I’m happy with it.

You’ll see pictures of my house. It’s neither pinterest worthy nor a museum. It’s decently clean, sometimes chaotic and it’s our home. Same goes for pictures of activities and toys. They’re not staged to be esthetically pleasing for the readers, they’re snapshots while we’re having a good time! And I hope you will have too!
